About This Tour
Tanzania is home to over 1,100 bird species, making it one of Africa's premier birding destinations. This specialized 8-day safari is led by expert ornithologists who know exactly where to find rare and endemic species. From the flamingo-filled lakes of the Rift Valley to the endemic species of the Eastern Arc Mountains, this tour covers Tanzania's most productive birding habitats. We'll seek out regional specialties including the Grey-breasted Spurfowl, Usambara Weaver, and the rare Pemba Scops Owl. With dawn starts and patient observation, we expect to record 400+ species. All participants receive a comprehensive bird checklist and species guide.
