Best Time to Visit

The south and east coast (Paje, Jambiani, Bwejuu) is known for dramatic tidal shifts and world-class kitesurfing. **June to October** is the best overall season — dry, warm, and the strongest kite winds blow. **December to February** is hot with calm seas for swimming. The southeast trade winds make **June to September** the top kitesurfing season. **March to May** (long rains) is the low season with some closures.

Getting There

Paje, Jambiani, and Bwejuu are 50-60km (1-1.5 hours) southeast of Stone Town by road. Transfer by taxi or hotel shuttle from Stone Town or the airport. Some hotels arrange direct airport transfers. The road is paved all the way. Dalla dallas (local buses) run regularly but slowly.
