Best Time to Visit

Victoria Falls is spectacular year-round, but the experience varies dramatically by season. **February to May** is peak flow — the falls thunder at full volume with spray visible from 30km away, though mist can obscure views. **August to December** (low water) reveals the rock face and allows activities like the Devil's Pool swim on the Zambian side. **June to August** offers a good balance of flow and visibility. Lunar rainbows are visible during full moon nights when spray is sufficient.

Budget Guide

Backpackers/hostels from $15/night. Mid-range hotels $80-200/night. Luxury (Royal Livingstone, Victoria Falls Hotel) $300-800/night. Falls entry fee $30 (Zambia) / $30 (Zimbabwe). Bungee jumping $160. Helicopter flight $150-300. Devil's Pool swim $100. Sunset cruise $50.

Getting There

Victoria Falls is served by airports on both sides: Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International (Livingstone, Zambia — LVI) and Victoria Falls Airport (Zimbabwe — VFA). Both receive flights from Johannesburg (2 hours), Nairobi, and regional cities. The town of Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) and Livingstone (Zambia) are connected by the Victoria Falls Bridge — cross easily with a KAZA UniVisa ($50).
