Best Time to Visit
The Western Corridor sees the Great Migration herds from **May to July** as they move northwest toward the Grumeti River. **Late May to early July** is the prime time for dramatic Grumeti River crossings with massive Nile crocodiles. Outside migration months, the corridor sees fewer visitors but supports resident wildlife including lion prides and hippo pools. **June to October** is the dry season with the best overall access. Some camps close during the **long rains (March-May)**.
Budget Guide
Mid-range tented camps $200-500/night. Luxury lodges (Grumeti Reserves — Singita) $1,500-3,500/night all-inclusive. Grumeti public campsites $30/night. Park fees $60/adult/day. Most migration-season camps require minimum 2-3 night stays.
Getting There
Fly into Grumeti Airstrip from Arusha (1.5 hours) or Seronera (30 minutes). Singita lodges operate private airstrips. By road from Seronera: 2-3 hours west through the park. The corridor is also accessible from the Ndabaka gate on the western boundary, reached from Musoma (4 hours). Roads can be challenging in the wet season.
