Tanzania's largest national park — a rugged landscape of baobabs and the Great Ruaha River supporting exceptional predator densities and elephant herds.
June to November. The Great Ruaha River dries to pools from August, concentrating incredible numbers of animals.
Park fees $30/adult/day (lower than northern parks). Mid-range camps $250-500/night. Luxury camps $500-1,200/night.
Bush flights from Dar es Salaam (2hrs) or Arusha. The nearest town is Iringa (2hrs by road). Very remote — flying is strongly recommended.
