Best Time to Visit
The Mara Triangle is famous for its role in the Great Migration. **July to November** is migration season — the dramatic Mara River crossings typically happen between **August and October**. Game viewing is excellent year-round thanks to the triangle's lush grasslands and permanent water. **January to March** offers good weather, fewer tourists, and newborn animals. The **long rains (April-May)** bring muddy roads but empty camps.

Mara Triangle conservancy fee $80/adult/day (non-resident). Budget camps outside the reserve from $80/night. Mid-range tented camps $250-500/night. Luxury camps (Angama Mara, Sala's Camp) $600-1,800/night all-inclusive. Balloon safaris $450/person.
Getting There
Fly into the Mara Triangle (Olkiombo/Keekorok) airstrips from Nairobi Wilson (1 hour). Daily scheduled flights. By road from Nairobi: 5-6 hours via Narok. Enter via the Oloololo Gate on the western escarpment — the descent offers dramatic views over the Mara. The Triangle is managed by the Mara Conservancy, separate from the main reserve.
